1. Information We Collect

myNestBite collects only the minimum information necessary to operate the platform:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and password (stored securely using industry-standard authentication infrastructure - we never see or store your password).
• Seller Profile Data: Business name, address, kitchen location (coordinates), phone number, contact email, food description, menu items, photos (URLs), and food categories.
• Usage Data: Search queries (location coordinates), profile views, ratings and reviews you submit.
• Device Information: Device type (mobile/tablet/desktop) and language preference (for locale detection).
• Analytics: Page views and session data collected via Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how users interact with the platform. GA4 may collect anonymised device and location data per Google's privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the platform: Display seller profiles, enable location-based search, show ratings and reviews.
• To communicate: Send account verification codes, password reset emails, and seller blocking notifications. We do NOT send marketing emails.
• To improve the platform: Aggregate anonymous statistics (total searches, registrations) to understand platform health.
• To enforce our terms: Monitor reports and block sellers who violate our home-cook-only policy.

3. Information Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Specifically:

• No data is sold to advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies.
• We use Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymised usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google. No advertising or Facebook Pixel scripts are used.
• Seller contact information (phone/email) is only visible to logged-in users - never exposed publicly or to search engines.

We may share data only if required by law (court order, legal obligation).

4. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure hosted in the United States.
• Passwords are handled using industry-standard hashing - we never see or store plaintext passwords.
• All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit.
• Access to production systems is restricted to authorized administrators only.
• We use automated protection systems to guard against attacks and data scraping.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

myNestBite's own storage is essential only:

• Session storage: Your authentication token (so you stay logged in during your session).
• Local storage: Theme preference (dark/light) and locale setting.

Analytics cookies: Google Analytics (GA4) sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to count visits and sessions. They are used only for our own usage statistics. We do NOT use advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data we hold about you (visible in your profile and account pages).
• Correct: Update your profile information at any time.
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Export: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

7. Children's Privacy

myNestBite is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained as long as your account is active.
• Deleted accounts: Data is permanently removed within 30 days of deletion request.
• Verification codes: Automatically expire and are deleted after 10 minutes.
• Blocked seller data: Retained for moderation purposes for 1 year after blocking.

9. International Users

myNestBite is available worldwide. Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure located in the United States. By using the platform, you consent to your data being transferred to and stored in the United States. We comply with GDPR (for EU users), CCPA (for California users), and other applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
